Jeff Surette and Danny Haluska have been close friends and colleagues for over a decade, having met while advising corporate and non-profit leaders at a top-tier strategic consulting firm in Boston.
Jeff and Danny continued their partnership when working as a freelance team to create the first business plan for TB12, the company co-founded by 7-time Super Bowl winning Quarterback Tom Brady.
Danny and Jeff have learned how to thrive in a wide variety of business situations and with a diverse array of team members. They share a common background rooted in the pursuit of excellence, growth, balance, and the importance of mutual respect.

Jeff Surette, Managing Partner

Prior to co-founding North Canal Ventures, Jeff served as Senior Vice President at TB12 — the company co-founded by NFL Quarterback Tom Brady and his Body Coach Alex Guerrero to codify their learnings from Tom’s approach to training and deliver them to athletes across all sports, ages, levels, and geographies.
Jeff led TB12’s operations from 2015 to 2020, including collaborating with Tom and Alex to establish the organization’s purpose & values; structuring, hiring and developing the business team; coordinating and leading facilities expansion; leading product development; leading digital growth initiatives (including e-commerce and mobile app development); and cultivating all strategic partnerships. Jeff started his career at The Parthenon Group (now EY-Parthenon) — a strategy consulting firm — where he focused on clients in education technology, digital media, and consumer products. Jeff worked at The Parthenon Group from 2005 to 2014.
Jeff holds a BA cum laude in Physics from Harvard College and an MBA from the Harvard Business School. Jeff grew up in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada, and returns home as often as possible (which is not often enough) to enjoy the outdoors and time with his family.
Danny Haluska, Managing Partner

Prior to co-founding North Canal Ventures, Danny served in the United States Army as a Military Intelligence Officer and deployed to Afghanistan as part of a Joint Special Operations Counter-Terrorism Task Force. During Danny’s Military career he had the honor of leading diverse teams of Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen, and continues to serve as a Captain in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Danny began his career at EY-Parthenon — a strategy consulting firm — where he advised Fortune 500 companies, private equity firms, and non-profit executives across multiple industries including education, healthcare, industrials, and consumer products. Danny also served as a strategic advisor to Tom Brady and his business partner Alex Guerrero as they launched and grew the TB12 business. During Danny’s tenure at EY-Parthenon and TB12, he developed a passion for business and a deep respect for the operators and managers he had the opportunity to advise and learn from.
Danny holds a BA cum laude in Economics from Middlebury College where he played football and baseball and an MBA from the Harvard Business School.
